LE M26 PERSHING

 

Le projet du  M6 ayant été abandonné, et le besoin urgent d'un nouveau char lourd au sein des forces américaines en Europe de l'ouest durant la seconde GM, amena à un tout nouveau type de blindé, remettant en cause les doctrines de l'emploi du char chez les forces américaines.

De 1942 à 1945, les chars M4 Shermans américains remplissaient comme ils le pouvaient leur rôle de soutien d'infanterie. Mais l'arrivée de chars allemands plus lourds, plus performants, au fil des années de guerre, poussaient le bureau d'étude américain à concevoir un nouveau char lourd, mieux armé et blindé, au détriment d'une perte de mobilité, et renversant les tactiques d'emploi de chars dans les forces américaines.

Jusqu'en 1944, des prototypes tels que le T20, T22, T24 ou encore T26 ont été réalisés.

Le prototype T26 a retenu l'attention, il était équipé d'un canon M3 de 90mm, ayant de très bonnes capacités antichars, mais cependant n'était que motorisé par le moteur du M4A3 Sherman, 450 cv pour 42 tonnes environ.

Le T26 a été renommé M26, puis pris le nom de Pershing, honneur au chef du corps expéditionnaire américain de la 1ere GM, John Pershing.

Le M26 avait un profil assez bas avec une hauteur de 2.78m. Sa longueur de 8.65m et sa largeur de 3.51m le rendait tout de même volumineux. Son poids total n’excèdait pas les 42t. Il était entraîné par un moteur Ford GAF V8 développant 500cv soit une faible puissance spécifique de 12cv/t. Il n’arrivait pas par conséquent à excéder une vitesse supérieur à 40km/h sur route. Le M26 bénéficie d’une autonomie de 161km du fait de son incroyable consommation de 517 l au 100 et de son réservoir de 832 l. Le Pershing était lourdement blindé et disposait d’un blindage maximum de 114mm et d’un blindage minimum de 19mm.

Le Pershing comportait également deux mitrailleuses de calibre .30 (7.62mm) dont l’une montée en coaxial. Pour l’armement défensif, une mitrailleuse de calibre .50 (12.7mm) est placée sur la tourelle pour la protection anti-aérienne.

Avant la fin du conflit, il fut produit 1436 unités.

Le M26 a fait ses marques aussi lors de la guerre de Corée, aux côtés des M46 Patton et des M4A3E8 Sherman. Cependant, la Corée n'était pas l'endroit idéal pour l'US Army pour des emplois massifs de chars. Aussi, le char M26 a été reclassé de char lourd, à char moyen après la Seconde guerre mondiale.

Le M26 a subit aussi tout un tas de modifications moteur, transmissions ou autre, donnant chacune une nouvelle version.

On est reparlera le 29 octobre pour voir si Relic a peu près respecter ses caractéristiques. ^^

Mode troll on** J'ai hâte de pouvoir le courser avec mes panzergrenadiers et leurs jolis petits panzerschreck ou mes volksgrenadiers. Un conseil de tonton ice. Prévoyez une bonne escorte anti-infanterie de type ranger, sinon il va pas survivre longtemps ce petit Pershing. Merci pour ta sous motorisation Oncle Sam. Mode troll off**

Avez vous une solution fiable ? Je précise qu'il s'agit du Pack comprenant COH, COH : OF, COH : TOV et COH : Legacy et j'ai constaté le bug sur Battle of the Bulge et sur Far East War

    • Bonjour, Je pense que la version de CoH sur le CD/DVD de CoH Anthology est en quelque sort trop vieille et donc plus compatible pour fonctionner sur Windows 10. Si je me suis souviens bien, CoH Anthology regroupe : CoH, CoH : Opposing Fronts et CoH : Tales of Valor. As-tu toujours les clés/codes CD de ces jeux ? Si oui, alors je te conseille d'ajouter ces clés sur Steam pour pouvoir télécharger le jeu dans sa dernière version et y jouer. Procédure dans ce sujet :
